The second owner of Beaches Sushi Restaurant declares undocumented workers

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – The second owner of a Sushi restaurant with locations in Ponte Vedra Beach and Jacksonville Beach declared himself guilty this week to house undocumented workers to obtain commercial profitsAccording to the Department of Justice.

The two locations of Kamiya 86 sushi and Thai restaurant were raided by national security agents in August 2024.

One of the owners, Hua Yao Ke, He declared himself guilty earlier this monthAnd the second owner, Ping Ping Zheng, declared himself guilty on Wednesday.

The authorities said the couple employed workers who were illegally present in the United States.

KE and Zheng did not demand that workers provide documents indicating that they could legally work in the United States, unlike the federal law, the investigators said.

The researchers said they provided free food, homes and transportation between houses and restaurants.

Ke faces up to five years in prison with a sentencing hearing on June 2. Zheng’s judgment has not yet been established, but the maximum penalty is 10 years in prison.
