The Supreme Court says there is no coercive against the center of the ISHA Foundation in Coimbatore

The Supreme Court on Friday (February 28) refused to interfere with the order of the order of the Superior Court of Madras to annul the notices of the Tamil Nadu pollution Control Board against the ISHA Foundation of Jaggi Vasudev on the construction of buildings in the foothills of the Velliangiri mountains without prior environmental authorization.

A Bank of Judges Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh said there will be no coercive actions against the Yoga and Meditation Center of the ISHA Foundation built in Velliangiri Hills of Coimbatore.

He said that Yoga and the Meditation Center will comply with all environmental standards and addresses of the pollution control board.

The bank said that in case of expansion of the Yoga and Meditation Center, a previous wink of competent authority will be taken.

However, the Superior Court clarified that the order would not create a precedent to regularize the illegal construction and that it has been approved in peculiar facts and circumstances of the case.

On December 14, 2022, maintaining that the facilities established by the ISHA Foundation in Coimbatore would be in the education category, the Superior Court set aside the TNPCB notice.

The Superior Court annulled the November 19, 2021 notice and allowed the plea of the ISHA Foundation.

The exhibition notice was about the construction of buildings in the foil of Velliangiri without prior environmental authorization.
