Prosecutors raided the Office of Corruption Investigation for High Rank officials on Friday by the suspicions that he tried to hide the initial denial of the search warrants of a court by the accused President Yoon Suk Yeol for his short imposition of martial laws.

The investigators of the Office of the Central District of Seoul raided the headquarters of the CIO to ensure evidence related to the accusations, according to the officials.

The search occurred after Yoon’s lawyers recently stated that the CIO had requested search warrants against Yoon of the Central District Court of Seoul, but the court denied the request. Later, the CIO requested separately an arrest warrant before the West District Court of Seoul, which issued it, which led to Yoon’s arrest in January.

Yoon’s lawyers affirmed that the CIO intentionally transferred to the West district court for the arrest warrant to increase the possibilities of obtaining it.

Yoon’s team filed a complaint against the head of the CIO, claiming that the CIO answered negatively to the question of a legislator of the ruling party about whether he had sought search warrants against Yoon of the Central District Court.

However, the Anti -Corruption Investigation Office, however, refuted such claims, claiming that it requested the order of the Western District Court of Seoul just because the presidential residence is under the jurisdiction of the court. (Yonhap)
