Prison sentences suspended from 5 to 10 years for the vicious attack against Pakistani

The Heraklion Police Department changed the position of attempted homicide to dangerous body damage for the wild attack against seven Pakistani in the Lassithi plateau, Crete.

For the wild attack against seven Pakistani in Crete In August 2021, seven young people, who had been arrested in custody, sat at the Bank of the Mixed Court Assize of Heraklion to face charges of murder and robbery attempt, among other things.

Pakistani workers had testified that they were beaten for 7-8 minutes, with kicks, blows and sticks. They described that they even broke his teeth, while some put a gun at his head.

One of the seven defendants was acquitted due to the lack of evidence, Crete Live reported. The remaining six were acquitted of the robbery charge.

In addition, the homicide attempt load was changed to dangerous bodily damage. The court accepted that the victims were attacked depending on the country of their origin. The defendants were declared guilty of the position of damage to the property of another.

One of the defendants was declared guilty for shooting unnecessarily, illegal possession of a cane and a weapon, and an illegal use of a weapon.

Regarding the sentences imposed: a defendant was sentenced to a total prison sentence of 10 years and 2 months, another defendant was sentenced to 9 years and 8 months, and four were sentenced to a total prison sentence of 5 years.

By four, the sentence was suspended without any condition, while for two, the suspension was granted under conditions. In particular, both were forbidden to leave Greece. The one with the longest prison sentence must also appear every month in the police department.
