Anthony Wright, 13th accused accused in the case of missing, accused, authorities say

A 13th accused person in the disappearance of almost a month of a 14 -year -old East Patchogue girl was accused on Friday, authorities said.

The accusation was sealed, so the details did not know each other immediately at a judicial hearing on Friday, but the man, Anthony Wright, 40, of Amyville, declared himself innocent earlier this week of violation positions in second degree and endangering the well -being of a child, according to judicial records.

Wright supposedly had sex with the teenager at home in Silverpine Drive in Amyville at the end of December 22 the next morning, according to the criminal complaint he accused him.

Wright “denies having some participation with this girl,” said his lawyer appointed by the Court, Eric Bess, from Sayville, out of court.

Newsday does not appoint the teenager because she is a minor and the alleged victim of sexual abuse.

Wright did not appear in court in the center of Islip on Friday. The Suffolk County District Court Judge, Evan Zuckerman, established Wright bail at $ 500,000 in cash or $ 1 million parties, according to judicial records. He remains in custody, according to records.

Suffolk researchers said Wright’s arrest was based on a sworn written statement that the victim provided on February 18, according to the criminal complaint. It was also based on an interview that the police did with Wright on Monday, according to the complaint.

Wright’s arrest was the first in the case since February 8, according to judicial records. Eight men, including him, have now been accused of raping the teenager after she left her home on December 9, Newsday reported.

A total of 13 people have been arrested in the general case, which also includes accusations of child sexual trafficking and narcotics charges. At least 10 people have been accused in relation to the case. All the defendants have denied the charges.

The girl was found aboard a boat in the sports port of the Blanca cap in Islip in early January, according to judicial documents. The owner of the ship, Francis Buckheit, 64, of East Islip, allegedly kidnapped and raped the adolescent while she stayed on her yacht from December 13 to January 3, prosecutors allege. Buckheit was the first person arrested in the case.

The girl was also sexually raped or abused by other men in places, including homes, a car and a state -owned mental health center in Suffolk County, where they treated her after the police found her, according to judicial documents.

Some suspects, including two women, trafficked the girl in exchange for drugs and money, prosecutors allege.

There was no new date available for the next appearance in the Wright court.
