Koa Pedat, a senior of Gilbert Perry and one of the best basketball recruits of high school in the nation, will miss the rest of the state playoffs of the open division after suffering a broken hand in practice on Tuesday.

Pedat, an All-American and Five Star recruit of 6 feet and 8 inches, was looking to capture his fourth state title. His Perry coach Sam Duane Jr. confirmed the injury.

Perry, the best classified team in Arizona and sown number 1 in the playoff group of the open division, receives Glendale Ironwood on Friday night in the quarterfinals.

PEAT is twice the Republic of Arizona and Basketball Basketball player of the Gatorade Arizona Secondary School that has not yet announced its university choice, which reduced Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Houston and Texas.

Duane said that Pedat suffered the injury when his hand hit a teammate during practice, fracturing his correct shot hand.

“He was protecting a roll and his hand was beaten, it’s like a boxing fracture,” Duane said. “He tried to play and it wasn’t good.”

Duane added: “When I saw him (in the movie), he had to hit exactly in that place. He would win the lottery before reaching that place.”

Duane trusts that the rest of the team is ready to meet with PEAT, who has always promoted his teammates.

Perry won the state summer time tournament in the summer while Pedat played for the basketball of the US team., And the Pumas competed well against Columbus and Boazer of CAM in the Hopophall Classic in Massachusetts, after Pedat lost most of the game in false problems.

Perry will still have a good size between 6-7 second year student Bruce Branch III and 6-5 senior d’Andre Harrison with solid players in the Nono Brown and Dominic Avalos guards.

“It is a recovery of three to four weeks and your hand will be good,” Duane said. “It will be a players coach. Trust our boys. We have good players and I think people are going to see how good our boys are.”
