Washington (AP)-high level leaders in the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Washington have been degraded to works that handle minor crimes or other low-level issues, in the last movement of the United States prosecutor of President Donald Trump to brush the position that supervised the mass prosecution of the United States Capitol attack, three people familiar with the matter said on Friday.

The interim movement of the United States prosecutor, Ed Martin, to reallocate at least seven of the most senior and experienced prosecutors have shocked lawyers in the office, which was already shaken by the shots of a series of lawyers who managed the cases of January 6. Among those who are being reallocated, they include several prosecutors who managed or supervised politically sensitive cases that involve the allies of January 6 and the allies of Trump Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon.

Prosecutors were informed in an email that were being reallocated to work in cases of minor crimes or transferred to the early case evaluation section, which evaluates new cases and manages the first judicial procedures, such as accusations in a superior court.

“Let me be clear: this change is not temporary” Martin told lawyers that they moved to cases of minor crimes, according to an email obtained by Associated Press. Martin said “Minor crimes do important works and needs for help.”

A spokesman for the DCU lawyer’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comments. It was not clear immediately who would replace reallocated supervisors.

The degraded include Greg Rosen, who was head of the Capitol’s siege section, which prosecuted the cases derived from January 6, 2021, Riot, said three people familiar with the matter. Others include two lawyers who helped ensure seditious conspiracy convictions against Oath Keepers, Stewart Rhodes, and former National President of National Boys, Enrique Tarrio. People spoke about anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss staff movements.

Another directed supervisor was John Crabb, an accessory of a long time in the office that participated over the years in multiple cases of high profile, including the prosecution that arises from the attack on the diplomatic complex in Benghazi and more recently cases against Navarro and Bannon.

Elizabeth Aloi, head of the Public Corruption and Civil Rights, was also degraded, who prosecuted Navarro for contempt of Congress for charges for refusing to cooperate with a Congress investigation into the attack on January 6.

Martin, a conservative activist who echoed the false claims of Trump 2020 electoral fraud, has overturned to the office since his appointment last month as an interim prosecutor of the United States. Has described federal prosecutors such as the “President’s lawyers” and forced the head of the Office’s Criminal Division to resign after a dispute over a directive that she examines the award of a government contract during the Biden administration.

Trump announced earlier this month that he was nominating Martin for the post, which will require the confirmation of the Senate. Trump said Martin “He has been doing a great job as an interim lawyer of the United States, fighting tirelessly to restore law and order, and make the capital of our nation safe and beautiful again.”
