The plea agreement includes the prison prison for the murder of a single blow outside St. Paul Bar

Prosecutors are willing to forgive a man in the prison so that he admitted that he killed another man outside a bar of St. Paul with a single blow.

PHENG VANG, 39, by St. Paul, agreed Monday at the Ramsey County District Court In relation to a fight on March 23, 2024In the Leven East Bar that led to the death of Peter Nguyen, 30, of Coon Rapids.

Instead of prison time, the guilt agreement with the County Prosecutor’s Office requires that VANG serves approximately one year in jail and includes 100 hours of community work service.

VANG remains bail before the sentence, which is scheduled for May 5.

According to the criminal complaint:

A witness said that Nguyen “had some kind of problem with the people who had been attending a birthday party” at the bar in the 900 block of Arcade Avenue.

Nguyen was “square to fight” someone outside when Vang entered and sent Nguyen with a single blow.

Under interrogation at the police headquarters, Vang said that he saw a member of his family and that Nguyen was about to fight. He said he wanted to spread the situation, he saw Nguyen bend down to collect a glass of sucks and throw a blow that hit Nguyen on the shoulder and face.
