Man arrested after trying to steal copper pipes from Pueblo home

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said a homeowner called about a robbery in progress in the 1100 block of San Mateo Street around 5 a.m. Friday.

The sheriff’s office said the homeowner saw a man, Ramiro Peran, 51, entering his home via his security camera. When officers arrived, they surrounded the house and urged Peran to come out several times.

Finally, Peran left the house through a small space in the basement. The sheriff’s office said they were able to arrest him without further problems.

The sheriff’s office said that after further investigation, they learned that Peran was trying to steal copper pipes from the home, causing extensive damage to the home. They also found several credit cards on his person that did not belong to Peran.

The sheriff’s office said they arrested Peran for robbery, second-degree theft, criminal mischief, criminal possession of identification documents and criminal possession of four or more financial devices.
