Hamilton County deputies searching for suspect who tried to rob tobacco store Friday

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tennessee – Hamilton County deputies are searching for a suspect they say tried to rob a tobacco store on Friday.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says the attempted armed robbery took place at the Smoking Joe’s tobacco store on Hixson Pike.

The suspect is a mixed-race man, according to HCSO. They say he tried to rob the store with a gun visible in his waistband.

Fortunately, HCSO says no one was injured and the suspect fled the scene without obtaining any property or money.

HCSO deputies and detectives are actively investigating this incident.
