Man accused of killing parents in Greene County charged with 2 counts of murder

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WCYB) – A man accused of killing his parents was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree murder, according to authorities.

News 5’s Liam Bridgeman visited the Greene County Sheriff’s Department to learn more about the investigation.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department said deputies arrived at the home in the 500 block of Hartman Lane and found Cassandra Wilhoit, 68, and Ray “Allen” Wilhoit, 60, deceased Friday.

His son, Jessie Wilhoit, 35, was taken into custody without incident. His bail was set at $2 million.

He is also scheduled to appear in Greene County court for his arraignment on October 28.

News 5’s Liam Bridgeman spoke with neighbors who said everyone involved in this case, including the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, left around 3:20 p.m. Friday.

A neighbor told News 5 that fights were common in the house.
