Bedfordshire Police make arrests during crime ‘crackdown’

“This crackdown was a collaborative approach with other forces to identify and apprehend serious criminals using the road networks to commit organized crime, linked to the county’s drug, gang and gun lines,” said Detective James Panter, who oversaw the Bedfordshire arm of the operation.

“Using a variety of overt and covert tactics, we managed to remand a number of suspects for a wide range of offenses underpinning some of the most serious crime plaguing Bedfordshire.

“In one case, an arrest was made just 20 minutes after a car was reported stolen, and in another we recovered a loaded shotgun following a stolen vehicle chase.

“The defendants now face the judicial process while our investigations into other linked investigations continue.”
