Scooter driver seriously injured after being hit by truck in Chelsea, police say

A 31-year-old man suffers life-threatening injuries after being hit by a truck in Chelsea while riding a motorized scooter, according to a statement from the Chelsea Police Department.

Chelsea police and fire units responded to Beacham Street near the town of Everett around 6:15 a.m. Saturday after receiving reports of an accident, according to the release.

Officials provided first aid to the injured Chelsea man at the scene. He was taken by ambulance to MGH Boston with life-threatening injuries, according to the statement.
