Andhra Pradesh: YS Sharmila breaks down while speaking about property dispute with brother Jagan Reddy

On Saturday, Congress leader YS Sharmila broke down while talking about the current Property dispute between her and her brother. and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking to reporters in Vijayawada, a teary-eyed Sharmila said: “God is watching and justice will prevail.”

YSRCP chief Jagan Reddy and YS Sharmila are embroiled in a bitter family dispute related to assets, including companies and land, belonging to their late father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

YS Sharmila addressed her words to the YSRCP cadres and workers, Demanding responsibility for the current situation.. Recalling the 2019 Andhra Assembly elections, the Congress leader emphasized that the YSRCP’s landslide victory (which secured 151 of 175 seats) was largely achieved thanks to her father’s legacy.

“The YSRCP cadres and workers should answer my questions. In the 2019 elections, the YSRCP came to power with 151 out of 175 seats. How did they get such a majority? It was because the party is named after Rajasekhara Reddy, which the won,” said Sharmila.

He also recalled his “personal sacrifices,” mentioning his dedication during the padayatra and their commitment to supporting the YSRCP.

“I worked tirelessly, as did my mother, before that election. We put in everything we could for the success of the YSRCP,” he said.

Furthermore, Sharmila expressed her deep disappointment with the current leadership of the YSRCPspecifically questioning the actions of Jagan Mohan Reddy. “What has Jagan Mohan Reddy done for me? Can you answer this?” she challenged, accusing the former Chief Minister of subjecting her and her children to injustice.

“For the last five years I have been confined within four walls. Jagan Mohan Reddy dragged us to court. Is it fair?” she asked.

The sibling rivalry between Jagan Mohan Reddy and Sharmila took a sharper turn when Jagan filed a petition before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), alleging that the shares of Saraswati Power and Industries Private Limited were initially handed over to Sharmila “by love and affection.” but later recanted in light of their growing political opposition.

Sharmila, however, argued that her entry into politics sparked this response, insisting that her involvement was solely to uphold “family respect and YSR’s legacy.”

Trying to downplay the rivalry, Jagan referred to the dispute as a common family problem, calling it “ghar ghar ki kahani” (the story of each home).
