Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson sends post-surgery message

He cleveland browns lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson for the rest of the season last week due to a torn Achilles tendon.

Watson had started the 2024 season very slowly and fans were calling for him to be replaced. This injury will give Jameis Winston the opportunity to show what he is capable of doing.

Now, Watson has officially undergone surgery to repair his Achilles tendon. He sent a message on social networks to the fans who followed the operation.

“I thank everyone for the prayers and love! More glory! Watson published

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Watson with the Browns. Many believe the franchise will consider selecting one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Once his season is over, Watson will finish his third year with Cleveland playing just seven games. He completed 63.4 percent of his pass attempts for 1,148 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. Watson also had 148 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Clearly, those numbers weren’t close to what Watson or the Browns expected to see.

There’s no real reason to believe Watson can be a franchise quarterback for Cleveland. That’s not chasing Watson, but it’s simply the truth.

Going into the 2024 season, the same questions and observations were present.

Watson, 29, still has two years left on his contract. That could lead the Browns to bring in talent at other positions and wait to find a new quarterback. Maybe Watson will get one more chance next season.

All that said, it’s a disappointing way to end another disappointing season for Watson. His three years in Cleveland have been nothing like what he had planned.

Now, his future with the Browns is in danger and he will not be able to return to the field to try to close the season strong.
