Who are the Glinds? Dragon Ball’s new demon species revealed

Dragon Ball Daima has been constant revealing all kinds of new information about the Demon Realm in the new anime series so far, and they’ve teased quite a mystery with the reveal of the Supreme Kai’s original demonic species, the Glind, in the most recent episode. Dragon Ball Daima has officially crossed over to the Demon Realm with the newest episode of the anime as the Supreme Kai and Goku joined Glorio and headed to the Third Demon World to meet their king. While previous episodes have revealed the Kai’s ties to demons, the most recent episode shared a very concrete update.

It was already a shock to discover that The Namekians actually come from the Demon Realm.but Dragon Ball Daima took the revelation even further by revealing that all beings with pointy ears are probably demons as well. This even includes Supreme Kai himself, as not only does he have a brother and sister living in the First Demon World, but he is now confirmed to belong to a species of demon known as “Glind” who has a very harsh reputation when it’s about how they are viewed by the other demons.

What are Glinds?

Dragon Ball Daima Episode 3 brings Goku and the Supreme Kai enter the Demon Realm fully. As Glorio explains it, they first needed to head to the Third Demon World (the end of three different separate worlds within the Demon Realm) because it’s the only one they have clearance for. The idea of needing clearance was already foreign to the Supreme Kai, aside from needing a PIN number to go to certain areas, and he’s only becoming more cautious and wary of Glorio as a result. For Glorio’s part, he doesn’t seem to trust the Supreme Kai either.

It is later hinted at why this is the case, as the Supreme Kai is shocked to see the Third Demon World and reveals that he has never been there before. Glorio hints that this is probably because he is a Glind, who once lived in the Second Demon World. Glorio then claims that the Kai’s “sophisticated type” never really had a reason to head to the Third Demon World, and that creates a greater mystery about this species in general, as they seem to be the ones who are eventually in the race to become a Supreme Kai to any of the given universes in the outside world.

How does this change the Supreme Kai?

The Supreme Kai being from a The demon race already had great implications. about what it means for the overall selection process to become a universe god since his brother and sister remained in the Demon Realm while he could head to the outside world. The Supreme Kai has never made any revelations about his ties to demons and his previous dragon ball Tradition had suggested that all of these beings essentially blossomed from the same type of tree. Even with all that, each character is still pursuing their own personal goals.

Now that the Supreme Kai has been revealed to be a Glind, and that Glinds have a bad reputation among other demons, this will likely further complicate Goku and the others’ journey through the Demon Realm. There are likely demons who disagree with the Glind (given their cocky nature), and that could make this path a more difficult journey to follow. Especially if only the The Glind can become gods in the outside world.. But how Dragon Ball Daima continues to reveal more about the Demon Realm, we will likely discover even more about the Supreme Kai’s origins and past.
