Newcastle fans explode at ‘horrible’ decision as new Chelsea footage emerges

Newcastle United fans were left outraged by referee Simon Hooper for making a “flagrant” decision during their Premier League clash against Chelsea.

Eddie Howe’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge after goals from Nicolas Jackson and Alexander Isak, before Cole Palmer’s goal proved the winner shortly after the break.

However, it was an incident shortly before Jackson’s first goal that left the traveling fans bewildered, who exploded at the referee.

Levi Colwill sent Bruno Guimaraes to the ground as the midfielder was poised to shoot in what looked like a golden opportunity for the Magpies to take the lead.

However, Hooper waved play on, despite Colwill appearing to indicate that the foul had been outside the area for fear of having awarded a penalty, and the hosts took the lead minutes later.

VAR officials were also unable to intervene because the foul occurred outside the area, leaving Newcastle fans stunned by the decision.

It has been a frustrating run of games for Howe’s side, who have gone five Premier League games without a win since the 2-1 victory against Wolves.

However, fans will point out decisions that went against them in the process while expressing their anger towards the referees.

Reacting to the incident on social media, fans made their voices heard as the call was labeled “horrible” and the officials “corrupt.”

In other news, Eddie Howe would be “tempted” by Man United’s offer.
