Woman arrested after shooting man to death

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A woman was arrested after a fatal shooting in the 1400 block of Guildhall Ave NW on Sunday, October 27.

Roanoke Police responded at 1:14 a.m. to reports of a domestic assault in progress. While officers were en route, the call turned into a gunshot wound, according to Roanoke police.

Upon arrival, a man was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police say the suspect fled but was caught and arrested.

The suspect, Elexus Allen, was charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Roanoke City Adult Detention Center without bail.

This incident remains under investigation.
