Cam Heyward will make history with the Pittsburgh Steelers against the New York Giants

Captain of the Pittsburgh Steelers Cam Heyward He will make team history on Monday when he takes the field against the New York Giants. When he takes the field for his first snap, Heyward will have played his 202nd game in a Steleers uniform, the most by a defensive player in team history.

Heyward will move into fourth place all-time in franchise history for most games played with the Steelers, passing safety Donnie Shell. Wide receiver Hines Ward, center Mike Webster and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger have played the most games in franchise history. Roethlisberger holds the record with 249 games played.

After this season, Heyward said he hopes to play two more seasons, which lines up with his three year extension with the Steelers. He has shown no signs of slowing down and dominates finishing at 35 years old.

If Heyward plays every regular season game he could have during the remainder of his contract, he will have played 246 games in his career. He could end up playing more than that in playoff games, but he’ll probably finish second in games played in franchise history.
