Kate Bush “very interested” in starting work on a new album

However, in an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today program on Friday (October 25), Bush He said he has “many ideas” he wants to carry out.

“I’m looking forward to getting back into that creative space, it’s been a long time,” he said.

Bush added that any new music he releases “has to be different,” just like all of his previous albums are from each other.

In 2014, Bush announced her first live shows in 35 years, and all 22 dates sold out in less than 15 minutes. He hasn’t performed live since.

Despite being eager to work on new music, Bush said she wasn’t ready to return to the stage yet, saying, “I’m not there yet.”

Despite stepping away from the spotlight in recent years, Bush met a new, younger generation of fans in 2022, following his 1985 hit. Running down that hill was featured heavily in the hit Netflix sci-fi drama series stranger things.

Thanks to a viral trend on TikTok, the song topped the UK charts 37 years after it was first released.

Speaking about the resurgence of interest in the song, Bush later said on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour: “I thought the song would get some attention. But I never imagined it would be something like this. It’s very exciting.”

He continued: “But it’s actually pretty shocking, isn’t it? I mean, the whole world has gone crazy.”

When host Emma Barnett asked how the singer would describe the song’s meaning to his new audience, Bush added: “I really like people to listen to a song and get what they want out of it.

“But it was originally written as the idea of ​​a man and a woman exchanging each other. Just to feel what it was like, from the other side.”
