Fundraiser for ‘abandoned child’ launched after woman stabbed to death at Bescot Stadium station

Rhiannon Skye Whyte was seriously injured after being stabbed at the train station on Sunday night.

“Thank you for all the love and support we are receiving as a family, now we must grieve together, united as Rhiannon would have wanted.”

The online fundraiser, which was organized on Thursday, had raised £565 of its £5,000 target by Friday morning, and 27 people had donated.

“The strange thing about this devastating loss is that now we have to live life without you, but how? If your short life will teach you anything, it is to appreciate every moment with your loved ones, since tomorrow is never guaranteed.

“You are so strong, a fighter and no matter what happens, we as a family will always be united by you. “We will love and miss you for now and forever.”

Deng Cholmajek, 18, of no fixed address, has been charged with her murder.

He appeared at Walsall Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on November 19.
