The superhero genre is a powerful force in the entertainment industry, both in theaters and on the small screen. Fans who spent years watching the Marvel moves in order know that Sony’s Spider-Man universe has occupied an interesting space there, as it has notably missed out on any appearance by Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. That includes Tom Hardy’s. Poison franchise, which has apparently come to an end with the third sequel the last dance. And now Hardy has been honest about why a Venom/Spidey crossover never happened.

The first Poison movie (which is transmitted with a Disney+ subscription) was a surprise hit, so a complete trilogy was eventually created. Throughout all of this, Spider-Man towered over the franchise, but the last dancecast list unfortunately it doesn’t include Tom Holland. During an interview with mtvHardy was asked why he hadn’t made a movie with Peter Parker, and said:

I don’t know. There are things that are honest answers to that, but they would still be just guesses. You know, I’m just guessing. I honestly don’t know. I think in that aspect, I think it’s way above my pay level, but not my interest level. I want that too.

While Hardy chose Tom Holland has his favorite Spider-Man, that doesn’t mean we’ll one day see them together on the big screen. And the worst thing is that there is no specific reason why the crossing never happened. At least, none that the 47-year-old actor can name from memory.

Spider-Man has yet to appear in any of the films in Sony’s cinematic universe. That includes titles like morbium, lady weband the next Kraven the hunter movie. It’s been noticed in each of them, but fans were really hoping to see Eddie Brock and Peter Parker come to blows… especially after Venom 2credits scene He scoffed at this possibility. In the same interview, Hardy expressed his disbelief that he was never able to face Spider-Man. In his words:

How do you make that manifest? You know, I honestly don’t know. It’s what the fans would like, some of them, I bet a lot of them. That’s what I would like, Tom would be willing, we would all be willing. Then it’s just a question of ‘How?’

How indeed. the last dance It is expected to be the last chapter of the Poison franchise, so we probably shouldn’t expect a crossover to occur in a future installment. But if the call is strong enough, maybe Tom Hardy could appear in spider man movie. It’s unclear who the villain of the fourth film in development will be, though Tom Holland admitted that he read a draft of the script. Perhaps all this talk of a crossover could inspire the studio to finally reunite Venom and Peter on the big screen. Let’s cross our fingers.

On the other hand, the critical response to Venom: The Last Dance It has been brutal. And if the film doesn’t make money at the box office, perhaps Tom Hardy’s tenure as Eddie Brock really has come to an end. The movie is already in theaters, watch the 2025 Movie Release Dates.
