Kohli was dismissed by Santner after a full toss. in the first innings on Friday when the New Zealand spinner took a career-best 7 wickets. The onus of rescuing the team fell on the Indian batsmen and the team got off to a good start thanks to the 62-run stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. However, wickets started falling after the lunch break.

Santner was on a roll and was facing Kohli, who was very cautious in his approach. Kohli’s defense seemed to be on point so far in the 30th minute.
