Start with your why – Park Record

I am writing to add my voice to the chorus of support for Ari Ioannides for Summit County Council.

Since I met Ari a few months ago, I’ve learned quite a bit about him. His dedication to public service and Summit County long predates his run for council. He is a serial entrepreneur and proven problem solver.

And Ari knows how to manage a budget, which is something we could use some good around here.

It will help restore much-needed balance to the council.

I’m a fan of Ari for many reasons, starting with his why, which you’ll see on his home page. www.vote4ari.com:

“I am running for County Council because I believe in smart, balanced solutions that protect the character of Summit County. “Our community faces challenges such as rising costs of living, traffic, and the pressures of growth driven by second homeowners and the tourist economy.”

He continues: “I am committed to addressing these affairs by preserving open spaceslive here more affordableand improve critical services for all residents. My experience in North Summit Fire District Control Board and as a technology entrepreneur it has taught me that collaboration and listening are key to finding real solutions.”

Ari has a plan for affordable housing (it’s the number one issue on the list). Issues tab on your site).

Dakota Pacific’s current proposal is No part of that plan. It has knocked on many doors and the resounding consensus is a “no”. Reflecting that overwhelming feeling, Ari also says a resounding “no” to DP.

Ari has already invested countless hours in service to Summit County, including saving literally millions by designing a brilliant data-driven solution for the North Summit Fire District, staffing two fire stations instead of three and while updating existing infrastructure, equipment and training.

Ari puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to open spaces. He and his family signed a conservation easement, donating the development rights to 260 acres of prime real estate to the Summit Land Conservancy at no cost to the community. This land, already zoned for development, could have earned them millions, but instead they chose to preserve it for the benefit of the community.

I’ve been to meetings hosted by his opponent and Ari. The difference is notable. While your opponent is a charming person eager to serve, his ideas are largely nebulous and immature. It’s just not ready for prime time.

While Ari is an extraordinary communicator, he has great ideas and has thought things through. With his proven track record of success, it’s clear that he’s not only the right candidate for the position – Ari is ready to hit the ground running on day one.

I invite you to visit his website and learn for yourself what he has done and plans to do. I strongly support Ari Ioannides for the Provincial Council.
