Both Salem and Centralia currently have three candidates running for city council.

Both the city of Salem and Centralia currently have three candidates who have filed to run for two open city council seats in each community.

In Salem, incumbent Royce Bringwald along with Frank Addison and Gerald Molenhour have filed petitions. A total of six packages were collected for execution. Among the others with a package out is fellow starter Jim Koehler.

In Centralia, starter Rob Jackson ran along with “Bunny” Garrett and Andrew Heser. A total of 11 petitions were withdrawn. The other incumbent, Jeff Castellari, has not accepted any requests.

The deadline to run in April’s nonpartisan elections is next Monday at five p.m. Petitions are being accepted at Salem and Centralia City Hall.
