1 person in hospital after scooter and vehicle accident in shopping center parking lot

One person is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash between a motorized scooter and a vehicle.

It happened around 3:20 pm on Saturday afternoon at 240 Midpark Way SE, which is the parking lot for the Midnapore shopping center.

Calgary EMS says they took the person on the scooter to Foothills Medical Center in a serious and life-threatening condition.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured.

The police are investigating.
