NASA astronaut Sunita Williams shares Diwali wishes from space | N18G

NASA astronaut Sunita Williams sent a Diwali greeting from the International Space Station, celebrating the festival 260 miles above Earth. In his message, Williams, who spent nearly five months on the ISS, reflected on his Hindu heritage and his father’s efforts to instill cultural traditions. Expressing gratitude for President Biden and Vice President Harris’ participation in the Diwali celebrations, he highlighted the festival’s themes of hope and kindness. This unique greeting coincided with the Diwali event at the White House. Williams, aboard the ISS since June with astronaut Butch Wilmore, will continue his work on the mission until his return in February 2024.
