Kilmarnock fans column: ‘Disappointed again by ridiculous lack of discipline’

Killie’s loyal group of supporters headed to Dingwall on Saturday full of optimism after an excellent victory over Rangers, but were let down once again by a ridiculous lack of discipline.

Liam Donnelly’s five minutes of madness cost us three points and in the process became our fifth red card of the season.

At the beginning of the season, the coach stated that our disciplinary record was not a problem. I would suggest that it is time for you to reevaluate that opinion.

Our penchant for finishing a game with 10 men has cost us several points and is the difference between competing for Europe or fighting for the bottom six and missing out on a potential trip to Hampden.

It should also be noted that the same referee has sent off three Killie players this season and threatened to make it four with another ridiculous decision involving Joe Wright.

If the same thing happened to any of the big clubs, they would make a lot of noise about the referee’s withdrawal from their matches. Killie needs to do the same.

Our poor discipline and poor decision-making must end now and the players causing the problem need time on the sidelines to reflect on their actions.

The tough run of fixtures continues with trips to Hearts and Dundee, followed by Celtic at the Theater of Pies. We’ve been playing well in recent weeks, so let’s keep that form up and stop fooling around.
