Manchester City ace Jack Grealish sends message to Rodri after fight

Jack Grealish took to social media to congratulate his Manchester City teammate Rodri on his controversial Ballon d’Or win.

The 28-year-old midfielder beat the likes of Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham to win football’s most prestigious individual award in Paris on Monday (October 28).

In a surprise twist, Real Madrid were outraged and chose to skip the ceremony despite having been awarded the Men’s Club of the Year award and their coach, Carlo Ancelotti, winning the Coach of the Year award.

Rodri lost only once, the FA Cup final against Erik ten Hag’s Man United, last season, winning the Premier League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup with City.

He then helped Spain to glory at Euro 2024, before being forced off at half-time due to injury in the 2-1 win over England in the final.

However, this season has not been ideal for Rodri, as he ruptured his ACL in the frustrating 2-2 draw against title contenders Arsenal earlier in the campaign.

The Spaniard was forced to limp down the red carpet on crutches and is unlikely to return until next season.

Grealish, 29, took instagram to send a message of support to his teammate after his remarkable season and well-deserved victory.

Grealish suffered an unspecified injury and will be sidelined next week after missing the 1-0 Premier League win over Southampton on Saturday (October 26).

Pep Guardiola’s side face a tough League Cup tie against Tottenham on Wednesday (October 30) before heading to Bournemouth on Saturday (November 2).

In other news, Pep Guardiola will soon make a ‘huge’ decision with Manchester City.
