84-year-old women seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Hull

Two 84-year-old women have been taken to hospital with “life-changing” injuries after being hit by a car at a zebra crossing.

The incident occurred near a Tesco Express store on Bricknell Avenue, Hull, at around 18:50 GMT on Tuesday when a black Ford Fiesta reportedly collided with the women.

Humberside Police said the women suffered serious injuries that were believed to be life-changing.

The force said the driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and a 39-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
