Intervene to solve farmers’ problems, union urges Pérez

The Bharti Kisan Union (Kadian) appealed to the president and sought her intervention to resolve the farmers’ problems and put pressure on the central government to accept their demands.

During a state-level meeting of the organization held here on Tuesday at Gurdwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, union president Harmeet Singh Kadian said the organization wrote a letter to president Droupadi Murmu and sought time to A meeting could be held to discuss in detail the farmers’ problems and find a solution.

During the meeting, the district presidents and state executive members discussed the problems of farmers.

Kadian said that during the meeting, duties were assigned to the leaders for the success of the Kisan Panchayat, which will be held in Moga on January 9 on the call of the United Kisan Morcha.

He said hundreds of farmers from each district would reach Moga in trucks and other vehicles to attend the event.

He said concern was also expressed during the meeting over the deteriorating condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is fasting unto death. He appealed to the government to hold talks with farmer leader Dallewal and find a solution to the farmers’ problems so that the farmers who are in the way of struggle can get their rights.
