The former Canucks teammate shared details of the feud between JT Miller and Elias Pettersson

It’s been a soap opera of a season in Vancouver for the Vancouver Canucks and the team’s fan base.

Star forward JT Miller’s leave of absence combined with rumors that he and teammate Elias Pettersson are feuding have sparked controversy on the West Coast. But so far, no reporter has managed to dig up any details of the feud between the two teammates… Hell, we still don’t even really know why Miller temporarily left the team.

Now, thanks to information from former teammate Brad Richardson, we finally have an idea of what’s going on.

On the latest episode of the Missin’ Curfew podcast with former NHL players Shane O’Brien and Scottie Upshall, Richardson reveals that Miller is and was too harsh on Pettersson and that he personally warned him not to alienate the boy.

First things first…the Canucks should have never let Richardson walk as a free agent in 2015. Another failure from Jim Benning…

Second, I’m inclined to believe Richardson 100%.

We know Miller is a feisty individual who will not back down. We also know that Pettersson is more reserved and doesn’t tolerate fools easily. The two players have almost opposite personalities. We know that.

We now have confirmation that their personality difference was creating a problem as early as 2022, when Richardson was both teammates. It is logical then that things have worsened in the two years since then and we now find ourselves in an unsustainable situation.

So… what’s the next step?

Trade? Couples therapy?
