West Roxbury teen stole victim’s pants, sneakers in armed robbery, prosecutors say

A 15-year-old West Roxbury boy allegedly broke into a home with two other attackers, where they stole an iPhone and several items of clothing, including the pants the victim was wearing, at gunpoint, authorities said.

The teen was arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court on Tuesday on charges of home invasion and armed robbery, according to a statement from the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office. He was ordered detained without bail, pending a dangerousness hearing.

The teen, whose name was not released, was one of three men who entered a residence on Weld Street in West Roxbury around 1 p.m. on Nov. 17, prosecutors said. After locating the victim hiding in a second-floor bedroom, one of the men allegedly pulled out a gun while the other two pulled out knives.

The man with the gun allegedly told the victim, “Give me all your things or I will shoot you and the dog,” which was in the living room in a cage, prosecutors said.

The three attackers stripped the victim of the $300 Spyder pants he was wearing, as well as the victim’s iPhone 13. They also allegedly stole several pairs of high-end footwear, including $500 Alexander McQueen sneakers and $1,000 Balenciaga shoes.

Police identified the teen after reviewing surveillance video from the area and witness descriptions, prosecutors said. Investigators are still searching for the other two attackers.

“Anyone who reflects on this scenario can instantly understand the fear this victim must have felt as she endured this harrowing experience,” Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in the statement. “I am grateful that neither the victim nor his dog was injured in this incident and I am grateful for the diligent work of Boston Police detectives in identifying the accused juvenile.”

The teen is expected to return to court on Jan. 10, prosecutors said. Judges are also considering revoking his bail in two other open cases.
