One dead after car plunges into bank in Hawke’s Bay

One person was killed and two seriously injured after a car crashed into a bank in Havelock North on Thursday night.

Police said they were called to a single-vehicle crash on Foster Lane around 10 p.m.

One person was found dead and two others were seriously injured.

The Serious Crash Unit had carried out an examination of the scene and police investigations were continuing, they said.

Death brings holiday toll at 13.

The official Christmas holiday period began at 4:00 pm on Christmas Eve and ended at 6:00 am on Friday.
