Prosecutors seek to bar testimony from defense cell phone expert.

McCabe previously testified that he was conducting searches related to youth sports around 2:30 a.m. before going to bed.

Lally asked if the URL field was updated in the “most recent search” while the timestamp kept the oldest search in the same browser tab.

Green said he didn’t think that was possible. He said a “second search” was carried out around 6:24 a.m. as he died in the cold. When asked if it was possible that the first search had also been conducted around that time, Green said that conclusion was “inconsistent” with the other data on the device.

Prosecutors also noted in Tuesday’s motion that two government experts from digital forensics firm Cellebrite, Ian Whiffin and Jessica Hyde, contradicted Green’s assessment on the stand.

Whiffin said he was “absolutely certain” that the Google searches were conducted shortly after 6:20 a.m., while Hyde told jurors that the Safari browser on McCabe’s phone initially searched for a youth sports league, and that the same tab was used four hours later. for dying in the cold, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said that when McCabe’s phone was scanned with the latest version of Cellebrite software, “the time stamp of the last visit at 2:27 a.m. no longer appears on the (data) extraction report.”

Separately, the state The Supreme Judicial Court is currently weighing Read’s request abandon the murder and leave the scene, arguing that several jurors told themeither directly or through intermediaries, that the jury unanimously agreed to acquit her of those two charges and was deadlocked only on the murder case.
