UK weather live: New snow and ice warnings issued as UK braces for freezing rain and travel disruption

In recent hours, the Met Office has issued several new weather warnings. If you’re just joining us, here’s a summary.

Amber Snow Warning: In force from 9pm today until 11.59pm Sunday, covering the East Midlands, North East and North West England, West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber.

Amber Warning for Snow and Ice: In force from 6pm today until 12pm Sunday, covering East Midlands, North West England, Wales, South West England, West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber.

Yellow ice warning: In force from 16:00 today until 10:00 tomorrow, covering the north of Scotland, including areas of Grampian, Highlands, Eilean Siar and the Shetland Islands.

Yellow warning for snow and ice: It comes into force today at 21:00 GMT and ends at 18:00 tomorrow and covers parts of Northern Ireland.

Yellow warning for snow and ice: In parts of the East Midlands, North East England, Wales and South West England.

Yellow warning for rain: Issued for Derbyshire, North West England, Wales and the West Midlands, valid from 06:00 tomorrow until 21:00; Fresh rain with warmer air and melting snow could cause some flooding.
