‘Great irony!’ Mike Lawler attributes Trump’s victory to Alvin Bragg

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) responded to the president-elect donald trump Being ordered to attend a sentencing hearing in his hush money case is a “great irony” since the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg helped elect Trump.

Lawler joined Fox News on Saturday following a sentencing. audience that Trump is scheduled for January 10, just 10 days before his inauguration. Trump was convicted of multiple felonies in the hush money case in which he was accused of falsifying business records to cover up an affair with a movie actress. Stormy Daniel. Trump continues to deny knowledge of the payments and denies having any role in the matter.

Lawler partially attributed Trump’s White House victory to Bragg and the New York Attorney General. leticia jamescalling the pair “dishonest prosecutors” who attacked Trump to build their own political profiles.

Lawler argued:

In both cases there were two dishonest prosecutors who decided that when they ran for office they were going to go after Donald Trump. They said it. They ran on it. And then, indeed, he did. And in both cases the charges are meaningless. In the Alvin Bragg case, he took what would have constituted, at worst, an FEC violation and turned it from a federal case to a state case, and from a misdemeanor to a felony. For that reason alone it should have been scrapped, on its own merits alone.

The lawmaker added that he believes Trump has a good chance of having the charges dismissed on appeal.

In Truth Social posts on Saturday, Trump angrily criticized the New York case and the hearing, claiming that the president joe biden and vice president Kamala Harris were involved “directly or indirectly.” Triumph declared that no president has been “treated as badly and illegally” as him.
