In the Alvin Bragg case, he took what would have constituted, at worst, an FEC violation and turned it from a federal case to a state case, and from a misdemeanor to a felony. For that reason alone it should have been scrapped, on its own merits alone.

The lawmaker added that he believes Trump has a good chance of having the charges dismissed on appeal.
