Man seriously injured after being trapped in farm machinery near Carterton

A man has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after being trapped in a piece of farm machinery in Wairarapa.

Masterton Fire station officer Richard King said crews in the area received an alert about a person trapped in machinery on Te Kopi Rd shortly before 11am.

Fire and Emergency sent one rescue team from Masterton, one from Carterton and two support appliances, which arrived at the Carterton rural property at 11.05am

“We helped the paramedics get the patient off the farm machinery,” King said.
