Crazy moment: footballer receives a red card for slapping his own teammate in a moment of madness

A PLAYER in the Turkish top division was sent off this weekend for slapping his own teammate.

Kayserispor’s Stéphane Bahoken was shown the red card just 23 minutes into his team’s clash against Super Lig side Sivasspor.

Bahoken, 32, was clearly frustrated after Kayserispor went down 2-0 just 10 minutes into the match.

and the Cameroon The international lost it when he confronted his teammate Miguel Cardoso for giving away a free kick in a dangerous position.

After confronting Cardoso, he pushed him before slapping him on the cheek.

Despite the altercation between two teammates, the referee had no choice but to reach into his pocket and dismiss Bahoken for violent conduct.

His dismissal came with more than an hour left in the game and left his team facing an uphill battle, to say the least.

Kayserispor could not turn the match around and ended up losing the game 5-2.

And things didn’t get any easier when teammate Joseph Attamah was sent off for two yellow card offenses later in the game.

Fans reacted to the incredible moment on social media.

One of them wrote: “His club should fine him and ban him from playing some matches. How could you slap your teammate, that baffles me?!

While another added: “Friendly fire.”

The club’s mascot provokes rival players, starts a fight, is sent off and then celebrates Ronaldo’s siu.

A third commented: “Look at this nonsense. Worst league in the world.”

And a fourth joked: “This makes Bower and Dyer look like a boxing main event”.

It is not the first time that The teammates have had a barney in the middle of the field.

Famously Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer became physical in 2005 when it’s on the books in Newcastle.

Both players were sent off that day and the fight spread to the locker room after their expulsions.

More recently, players have had verbal confrontations on the field that have made headlines.

Arsenal duo Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko lost their cool last season against Nottingham Forest.

While the Chelsea players Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson became involved in the Cole Palmer case over who should take a penalty during the Blues’ 6-0 win over Everton last season.

And the Manchester United couple Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund were involved in a furious fight after his european league clash against Victoria Plzen this season.
