What they are saying:

A criminal complaint states that the victim, Dequon Garrett, 23, was declared dead in the place. The researchers found two guns near Garrett’s feet and two bullet caps near their body.

The researchers found a video of a cell phone that captured the shooting. Prosecutors said it showed five people, including Garrett, stops near where the victim’s body was later found. Garrett seemed to be arguing with someone; However, the video showed “unequivocally” that a different person shot Garrett.

90 and Hampton, Milwaukee

The complaint states that the video, which lasted approximately 31 seconds, showed Garrett receiving a shot “at close range” before falling to the ground. All, except Garrett and the shooter, fled. Then, the shooter “calmly” approached Garrett’s body and fired a second shot before moving away.

After the first shot, the judicial documents say that a voice was heard in the video shouting “Quay! No!” After the second shot, a voice shouted “Quay! Quay!” The researchers said it was “completely obvious” in the video who shot Garrett.

Johnson was arrested the next day. Prosecutors said he initially claimed not to know why he was in custody, but heard that there was a “corpse” about 90th and Hampton. The researchers said Johnson later told them that Garrett had two weapons and “hit” one of Johnson’s relatives during an argument. He finally admitted that he shot twice.
