BARON EXPLAINER What is an ice push?

Given the extensive ice sheet on Lake ErieThere is particular concern that strong winds and waves will push the ice sheets inland. Warmer temperatures on Monday may temporarily weaken the ice, making it more likely to move.

Ice thrusts can move surprisingly fast, so people should be especially careful along coastal areas, as ice sheets can climb over each other and push inland, creating towering ice mounds.
