The man accused of murder of women in Plymouth appears in court

A man has appeared in the court accused of the murder of a woman in Plymouth.

Paul Butler, 53, of Stangray Avenue, appeared in the Magistrates Court of Plymouth accused of killing the university professor Claire Chick.

The 48 -year -old man was seriously injured in West Hoe Road on Wednesday and then died in the hospital.

Butler, also accused of the illegal possession of an article with blades, was arrested and must appear in Plymouth Crown Court on Tuesday and Friday, March 3.
