Suspect, 16, accused of fatal shots of Schenectady who killed 15 years

A 16 -year -old man was accused of murder in relation to a shooting in Schenectady last October who killed a teenager and seriously injured another.

The suspect, who is only being identified as DS, is accused of shooting and killing Dubar Knowles, 15, in a great party at the Congress Street on October 12, 2024. The bullet passed through Knowles’s chest and hit A one-year-old girl on the back of the head, according to the Schenectady County District Office. The teenager needed surgery to repair the damage of the skull. She has recovered largely.

The DNA found in the bullet was linked to DS, according to prosecutors.

The suspect has been accused of second degree murder, two first degree assault positions, reckless danger and manipulation of physical evidence. It has been sent to the Safe Center for Youth Detention of the Capital District waiting for other procedures.
