Woman presents a lawsuit against the Sealy mattress after the fiance dies inside the company’s trailer

Atlanta, Georgia (Wanf/Gray news) – A woman in Atlanta filed a lawsuit against the world’s largest mattress manufacturer after her fiance died inside one of the company’s trailers.

Jasmine Jennings’s demand accuses tempur Sealy International and several affiliated groups of negligence in the death of Joshua Armor, 27 years old.

On October 22, Armor, who suffered from a mental health crisis, disappeared. The next morning, he called his brother and said he was in a dark and unknown place, according to the demand.

Through the location services of his phone, Armor’s family tracked it to an installation of Sealy mattresses. However, a representative supposedly refused to let them in and not seek the property, telling the family to call the police.

It is not clear what role the police played in the search for armor.

On October 23, Armor phone battery died and his family lost contact with him.

The security video showed an unknown person by entering the facilities, so the company told its employees to locate the doors in all its mattress storage trailers, one of which Armor was, said the demand.

It was found dead inside the trailer six days later during what family lawyers call a routine check.

At a press conference, lawyer Kate Reddy said the tragedy could have been avoided.

“This is a case about how the elections of a corporation have led to a completely preventable tragedy that has left the family of Joshua torn,” he said. “They had all the opportunities to save Joshua’s life. It is your choice to ignore your family’s supplications. “

“When Sealy acted, we know they acted to block the trailers, to save their property, save their mattresses, look for their own results,” added lawyer Mark Johnson.

Jennings and Armor, who were together for six years, have two young children.

“He was so genuine, so full of love, a great father,” Jennings said. “He did not come from the best background, but he was trying to be the best person that could be and that his life ended so shortly …”

She said she wants justice and that no other family experiences what are happening.

“I don’t understand how this could happen. How such carelessness could be taken in this situation. I just want answers to get justice for Joshua’s family, so this will never happen again, “Jennings said, cleaning tears.

In a statement, Tempur Sealy International said he was “sad for this tragic incident.”

“Our deepest sympathies are with the victim’s family and loved ones. We have been carrying out an exhaustive investigation to understand all the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and we have fully cooperated with local authorities, ”reads the statement. “As this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot provide more details or comments at this time.”
