Six arrested on the plot to kidnap the French star of YouTube staing

Paris – The French police arrested six people suspected of conspiring to kidnap YouTube Star Inoxtag or one of their relatives and demand a rescue, a source close to the case and prosecutors said on January 30.

Integag, 22, whose real name is Ines Benazzouz, has 8.7 million subscribers on YouTube, 6.3 million in Tiktok and almost six million on Instagram.

His best -known video, a feature film documentary about his rise to the Mount Everest, who went up despite the fact that there is no previous experience in mountaineering, has been seen 37 million times on YouTube since it was published on September 14.

The six were arrested to interrogate under suspicion of armed robbery attempt and attempted kidnapping by an organized group, said the prosecutor’s office, confirming the information for the first time by the RTL station.

It is suspected that they attack a couple in Orgeval near Paris in November 2024 who lived in a house that once belonged to Integag, according to a source close to the case that asked not to be named.

The attackers intended to kidnap YouTuber or one of their relatives and demand a ransom, apparently without knowing that the house had changed to the owners, the source said.

At the beginning of November, the thieves attacked another house that Integag had rented once.

The phenomenon of social networks began publishing images of video games in his adolescence and his energy Livewire catapulted him to the superstrient among the French young people.

Integag also published his first graphic novel, Instinct, in November, a story about a young man with the power of perceiving the aura and the intentions of those around him.

But it was the launch in mid -September of the film capturing its preparations to climb Mount Everest that brought its fame to new heights.

He swore on social networks during his ascent of Everest and said he had learned from the criticism he received for his climb, particularly from the mountaineers, on environmental issues and exaggeration.

He said that he still delivered “breaks” of the screens and recognized his frustration for the “politicization” he has faced on social networks.

“I don’t want to talk about politics,” he told AFP in 2024, although he recognized his influence with young people.

“My only work is to convey optimism and good values.” AFP
