Suspicious murder attempt arrested in shots that seriously injured 2 women: HCSO

He Hillsborough County The Sheriff’s office arrested a man who, they say, shot two women earlier this month.

What we know:

The agents were sent to Fowler Avenue block in Tampa on January 26, 2025, around 3:40 am to investigate a possible shooting.

When they arrived, the agents said they found two women suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to a hospital in the area with serious injuries.

The detectives said they identified Addy Ortuno Arroyo, 20, as suspicious of shooting.

He was arrested on January 30, 2025 and accused of:

  • Download firearm in public or in residential properties
  • AGRAVED BATTERY GREAT BODY DAMAGE O
  • Attempt at murder in the premeditated firearm in the first degree: great body damage (X2)
  • Murder attempt at the premeditated firearm in the first degree – Download
  • Aggravated assault

What we don’t know:

The deputies have not published a possible reason for the shooting.

What they are saying:

“Our team worked tirelessly to identify and arrest the suspect responsible for this act of meaningless violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the dedication of our detective, this individual will now be responsible for their reckless actions. We remain committed to seeking justice for the victims and guaranteeing the security of our community.”
