Sunderland man who broke the jaw of the new imprisoned girlfriend

A man who broke his new girlfriend’s jaw after attacking her several times during his relationship of one month has been imprisoned for almost four years.

Scott Gibson, 23, who had threatened to kill the woman a few days after they met, also strangled, heard the Newcastle crown crown.

His victim, mother of two children, said he was “terrified” by Gibson and feared to have a relationship with someone else.

Gibson, from Pancras Road in Plains Farm, Sunderland, admitted crimes that include intentional strangulation, inflicting serious body damage and assault, and was imprisoned for three years and nine months.
