Munambam issued a private dispute, why did the state intervened?: Kerala HC

The dispute refers to the land in Munambam, which originally measured 404,76 acres, but has been reduced to around 135.11 acres due to the erosion of the sea.

In 1950, the Earth was given to Farook College by one, Siddique Sait. However, the land was already the home of several people, who continued to occupy the land, which led to legal battles between the university and the occupants of a long time.

Later, the University sold parts of the earth to these occupants. These land sales did not mention that the property was WAQF Land.

In 2019, the Kerala Waqf Board formally registered the land as WAQF property, making previous sales null. This triggered the opposition of the residents, who faced the eviction.

In response to the growing protests of around 600 families, the Kerala government appointed an investigation commission in November 2024, directed by the former judge of the Superior Court, Judge CN Ramachandran Nair, to recommend solutions.
