‘Completely imaginary notation …’: BJP requests ‘privilege procedures’ against Rahul Gandhi for Lok Sabha’s speech

BJP deputy, Nishikant Dubey, has formally requested the president of Lok Sabha, Om Birla, who initiates ‘privilege procedures’ against Rahul Gandhi, opposition leader. Dubey’s letter to the speaker accuses Gandhi of misuse of his parliamentary privilege by distorting facts. During a recent speech at Lok Sabha, Gandhi raised multiple problems, including accusations against Indian government policies and international relations.

Rahul Gandhi’s comments have caused controversy, particularly their statements about the manufacture of mobile phones in India and Chinese territorial incursions. Gandhi’s speech also included statements that the Indian government was not invited to the inauguration of former president of the United States, Donald Trump. In addition, Gandhi addressed issues such as the recent elections of the Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra, the appointment of electoral commissioners and the need for a caste -based census.

Dubey’s letter to the speaker accuses Gandhi of having “not only blatantly distorted the historical and nouns, but also tried to ridicule our country and reduce the prestige of our Republic.”

Dubey states that Gandhi misunderstood article 105 of the Constitution of India that provides freedom of expression in Parliament, believing that he grants freedom without restrictions to parliamentarians. Dubey argues that “freedom of expression in Parliament” is a privilege subject to constitutional provisions and parliamentary rules. He warns that Gandhi’s interpretation could lead to “anarchy at home.” The situation remains tense since BJP delibera leadership in other actions.

“My instant notification of ‘breach of privileges’ is with respect to the usual and flagrant lies and the vilipendio campaign of Shri Rahul Gandhi when using the sacred forum of our Parliament on a completely false and imaginary notion that he, as a member From Parliament, it has an inherent right and privilege to speak what you want on the floor of the house and even the president or leader of the Chamber or the Treasury banks have no authority to discipline their inhabitant and criminal behavior, ”he said Dubey in his letter.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also declared that Gandhi’s comments on the border situation of India-China were “false accusations.” Singh emphasized: “The words attributed to the Army Chief by Shri Rahul Gandhi were never pronounced by him at any time. It is a deep repentance that Shri Rahul Gandhi surrenders to an irresponsible policy in matters of national interest.” The Minister of Defense clarified that the comments of the Army Chief were related to the traditional patrol disturbances, not Chinese intrusion.

Singh also addressed Gandhi’s claims about the Chinese occupation of the Indian territory, referring to historical conflicts. He pointed out that any territory currently occupied by China resulted in the 1962 conflict and the assignment of Pakistan in 1963, both occurred during the Congress government. Singh suggested that “Gandhi can consider introspecating this phase of our history.”
