Protesters throughout the United States demonstration against Trump administration policies

The protesters gathered throughout the country on Wednesday as part of a movement that opposes the policies of the Trump administration and Project 2025The controversial list of conservative presidential desires.

The protests, which took place largely in the state capitals, were organized by an online movement called 50501, which means 50 protests, 50 states, one day.

The base effort has been organized at social media sites using hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501, asking Americans to “fight fascism

The protesters marched and gathered in cities such as Atlanta, Austin, Boston and Philadelphia, maintaining signs with messages such as “silence is violence”, “defending democracy”, “accuse Trump” and “Death to fascism.”

Vermont College Andy Cole was among those who protested outside the Vermont state house in Montpelier on Wednesday.

“I came here today because it is important that people are here,” Cole told ABC Montpelier Wvny affiliate. “As a young person, it is important for me to be here. As a human, it is important for me to be here.”

“I could not sleep at night if I did not compromise and I was not active in my community, especially with everything that is happening at this time,” Cole continued.

In the first weeks of his new mandate, President Donald Trump has signed a series of executive orders, some of which already face each other legal challenges.

The protesters highlighted Trump’s immigration policies, with signs that say “no human is illegal”, since the administration takes unprecedented measures to eliminate as many undocumented migrants from the United States as possible.

Protesters also protested actions aimed at LGBTQ+ people, the same day Trump signed an executive order Prohibit transgender athletes of female sports. Last week, he signed an order looking to restrict Attention affirming gender for people under 19 years.

Protesters also called to save the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which supervises foreign aid programs, relief and international development.

Many protesters pointed to Musk in particular, highlighting their efforts Disassemble government agencies and obtain access to government data. You could see signs with the message “No one voted for Elon Musk” in multiple protests.

Vice President JD Vance alluded to that feeling in X WednesdaySaying: “However, they voted for Donald Trump, who repeatedly promised that Elon Musk highlighted a wasteful expense in our government.”

Before Wednesday, an Instagram account that claims to be the official account of Movement 50501 shared flyers for planned protests such as “reject fascism” and “We people reject the 2025 project.”

A “declaration of equal freedom” published in the Instagram account affirms that the “rhetoric of the 2025 project intends to divide, isolate and alienate our society, as well as dismantle the fundamental freedoms of our country by attacking our institutions.”

Trump distanced himself from the 2025 project in the campaign campaign, but he nominated several of his authors or taxpayers to his administration.
